This is ‘Great White IV.1’. He is the first of the IV series, made in Jesmonite - a versatile, water-based composite material made from a combination of a mineral powder base and an acrylic resin creating a durable, eco-friendly alternative to traditional resins, plaster, and concrete - and it is made in Shropshire, UK. This edition is 70cm long, and he has been beautifully sprayed with a purple, glitter based paint thanks to Steve and Liz from S&P Paintshop in Telford, Shropshire.

The Great White is the king of sharks. They are described as ‘the gardeners of the ocean’ because they play such a crucial role in the marine eco system - and yet mankind slaughters sharks by the millions every year.

Great whites are also known to be the most evolved creature on earth - having been around for some 450 million years.

I honour these beautiful creatures through this series of sculptures.
