RHS Chelsea flower show 2025

Having had a successful RHS Chelsea in 2024, I wanted to repeat it in 2025, and fortunately my application was once again accepted by the RHS. This time around, I wanted to focus on art as an access point to a wider subject -in this case, Marine Conservation.

A friend had been asking me for some time to make a Great White Shark, and I would take this opportunity. The various versions I have made of the Great White Shark are covered elsewhere on this site. Suffice to say I wanted to create a life-size version (the male is typically 4 metres long) as the centrepiece for the stand. I also wanted to collaborate with a suitable charity, and I was happy to find a collaboration with Sealife Trust. I hope, in some small way, the conversations and awareness that was promoted by my stand, and the support of Sealife Trust, will be part of creating a better understanding of these important and magnificent creatures.

At the same time, and very sadly, a friend of mine was taken from us too young. He had been an RHS Chelsea Gold award winning garden designer, and more recently an RHS judge. With the co-operation of his wife, and with huge help from his wonderful gardener, Holly, we used plants from his organic garden to create our RHS Chelsea stand 2025. I hope he would be pleased with our efforts. RIP.
