EL TOTO II

I remember as a child reading ‘The story of Ferdinand’, a 1936 book that tells the story of a Spanish Bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights. I hope this sculpture captures something of that spirit.

I have made a number of versions in different sizes and materials - this one sits on a marine grade stainless steel base, and is made in C102 copper layers. He was first exhibited at The Osborne Studio Gallery in Mayfair, London where he was seen by a director of a luxury cruise line company. As result, there is one of this edition that is now cruising round the world in luxury!
